2024 Kia Niro Air Filter in Burlington, MA

The 2024 Kia Niro engine air filter sits in the engine bay inside a rectangular airbox near the front of the vehicle.

This airbox feeds the Niro’s 1.6L inline-4 engine and hybrid intake system, protecting it from dust and debris. Open the hood and look for a clipped housing with an intake snorkel—typically accessible with basic hand tools. If you prefer professional service, our Burlington, MA team can inspect, replace, and reseal the housing to factory spec.

• Rectangular airbox in the engine bay
• Supplies clean air to the 1.6L I4 (engine code NAG)
• Quick access for inspection and replacement

The 2024 Kia Niro cabin air filter is located behind the glove box in the HVAC intake area.

Lower the glove box, release the side stops, and you’ll see a rectangular cover leading to the cabin filter slot. This filter screens pollen, dust, and odors before air reaches the cabin. Our Burlington service team can swap it quickly and verify blower performance if you’d rather not remove interior trim.

• Behind the glove box, in front of the blower motor
• Filters air for the HVAC and passenger area
• Access requires glove box removal and panel clips

The engine air filter protects the 1.6L engine’s intake, while the cabin air filter cleans air entering the Niro’s HVAC and passenger area.

Under the hood, the engine filter prevents dust from reaching the combustion air path, supporting power and fuel economy. Inside, the cabin filter traps fine particles and odors for cleaner, more comfortable airflow. Both are essential for the Niro’s performance and your comfort.

• Engine filter: intake protection for combustion efficiency
• Cabin filter: cleaner air for occupants and HVAC system
• Different locations, materials, and service procedures

Common signs include reduced power, lower fuel economy, rough idle, and a dirty filter element in the airbox.

When the 1.6L inline-4 can’t get enough clean air, the hybrid system may feel sluggish and the engine may run rich. Inspect the filter for heavy dirt or dark staining. If you notice drivability changes, our Burlington technicians can confirm restriction and restore proper airflow.

• Slower acceleration and throttle response
• Decreased MPG vs. normal Niro driving
• Visibly dirty or deformed filter media

Look for weak HVAC airflow, persistent windshield fogging, or musty odors from the vents.

A loaded cabin filter restricts the blower and can let trapped moisture produce odors. You might need higher fan speeds to feel the same airflow. In Burlington and greater Boston commuting, periodic checks keep your Niro’s climate control comfortable and efficient.

• Reduced airflow at usual fan settings
• Odors when A/C or heat starts
• More dust on interior surfaces

Yes—most 2024 Kia Niro engine filters are DIY-friendly, while the cabin filter needs careful trim removal.

The engine airbox typically opens with clips or screws, making a driveway swap feasible. The cabin filter sits behind the glove box and requires mindful handling of stops and panels. Dealer service adds an intake housing check and a quick HVAC function test for peace of mind.

Our 2024 Kia Niro air filter service targets both performance and cabin comfort. Technicians start with an engine intake inspection, opening the airbox to check sealing surfaces and the existing filter. If replacement is requested or required, we fit a new OEM-spec element and verify correct airbox alignment. For the cabin, we lower the glove box, inspect the HVAC intake, and slide in a fresh cabin filter to restore airflow and odor control. A visual look at the intake ducting and MAF sensor area helps catch issues early. If you’re timing maintenance with other work, review our current service specials and then schedule service online for a convenient visit.

The 2024 Kia Niro pairs a 1.6L inline-4 (engine code NAG) with a hybrid system, so clean intake air is essential for efficiency and drivability. The engine air filter is a rectangular, pleated element housed in the under-hood airbox. The cabin air filter is a rectangular, pleated filter behind the glove box that screens dust and odors before they reach the vents. We install OEM-spec filters designed for proper fitment and sealing in the Niro’s housings.
